ALADDIN JR. WAS PURE MAGIC!

You didn’t have to make a wish to see a fantastic show last weekend, our kids made it happen! We are so proud of the incredible work that our kids put into our production of Aladdin Jr. It was by far the biggest show that Downstage Center has put together, and we couldn’t have asked for a better cast, crew, production team, and parent volunteers. Thank you all!
Take a peek at some pictures of our final dress rehearsal. Special thank you to Chad Hites for snapping these photos!

THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR 2021 SUMMER CAMP!

About Us

A comprehensive theatre resource for your children

Mary Beth & Jonathan

Hello! We are Mary Beth Zentner and Jonathan Tuala, a couple of Las Vegas friends who have a passion for music, dance, acting and all things theatre-related!

Collectively, between performing onstage and directing behind the scenes, we have about 100 shows to our credit, including productions of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Secret Garden and Mary Poppins which we have starred in together!

Mary Beth Zentner holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in Teaching from Sierra Nevada College, and has been participating in and teaching theatre and voice for most of her adult life. As an actress, she has appeared locally in numerous productions such as The Sound of Music, Les Misérables, The Secret Garden,Company and Mary Poppins, for which she won the Las Vegas Valley Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress. . As a theatre educator, she has combined her passion for teaching with her lifelong love of theatre in the direction of over twenty elementary and middle school productions. She is also a Teaching Artist for The Smith Center.  Having witnessed so often the transformative power of the arts in children’s lives, she is grateful for the opportunity to continue her favorite kind of work with Downstage Center Theatre.

Jonathan Tuala has been playing piano since he was in kindergarten and has cultivated a love of the arts ever since. He holds a BFA in Vocal Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. He has acted in productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Shrek, The Scarlet Pimpernel, A Chorus Line, The King & I, and many others. He has also music directed many productions, including Newsies and West Side Story, and many youth productions such as Beauty and the Beast, Godspell, Lion King Jr., and Charlie Brown. He is currently a paraprofessional accompanist for Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School, as well as accompanist for various theater companies around the Las Vegas Valley such as Las Vegas Little Theatre, Hynes-Sight Productions and Signature Productions.
